With her bitter lyrics and "I don't care at all" image, who would ever imagine that this young Canadian singer was once considering a future in folk and country music? But since she's young and has a lot to say in her song writing, punk rock became a style of her own. She even had to quit school at 16 to break into an overwhelming success with her first album, "Let Go", going 6x platinum. Her carrier single "Complicated" even hit the Billboard charts at No. 1 that later earned her several nominations from the prestigious Grammy and MTV Music Awards. Out to prove that she's not a one-hit-wonder, all her albums had phenomenal sales with a solid fan base not only in Canada but worldwide. Apart from her image and personality, what made Avril Lavigne stand out from popular teen singers is her special talent in writing her feelings into a song. As such, she's behind the Kelly Clarkson's hit single, "Breakaway". Now married to Deryck Whibley, Avril Lavigne believes that singing is her life.
